Removals Terms & Conditions

  1. Interpretation

    1.1 These terms and conditions shall apply where customers (“Customer”, “you” or“your”) book moving services through Sky Movers (“Sky Movers”, “we”, “us” or“our”). Any services provided to the customer by Sky Movers will be on the basis of these terms and conditions.

    1.2 Customer agrees that any agreement of services offered by Sky Movers is subject to these terms and conditions and by placing an agreement for services you agree to be bound by them.

    1.3 We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions from time to time by changing them on this website, although no such change will affect any order you have already placed with us. These terms and conditions were last updated on the 22th of January 2017.

  2. Services

    2.1 Sky Movers provides moving services to the Customer, services include: loading and unloading of the agreed goods, as well as the transportation of the goods, from the customer’s old address/location to customer’s new address/location as specified in the agreement, including travel to and from the respective customer’s address, drivers, moving staff and fuel.

    2.2 The Customer can also request for Sky Movers to provide (or can book) additional services as further described on Sky Movers website or by one of Sky Movers representatives at extra costs.

    2.3 The parties agree that the disassembling and re-assembling of furniture as well as other moving related services such as the packing and labelling of goods are not included in the services/do not form part of these terms and conditions and must be provided by the Customers themselves, provided that these are not requested as additional services in accordance with clause 2.2.

    2.4 The transport of dangerous materials, passengers or animals is not permitted.

    2.5 Sky Movers reserves the right to use third parties for the fulfilment of its service.

  3. Quotation

    3.1 Is provided on the basis of loading and unloading from customers old address/location to customers new address/location unless any extra services are requested.

    3.2 Quotations can be provided as a set price for the whole job as described, but any extra to what was originally agreed will be charged extra as accordingly. Or if quoted on an hourly rate basis is subject to a minimum of two hours.

  4. Your obligations

    4.1 The Customer is obliged to provide Sky Movers with a complete list of goods for moving either verbally or written. The Customer must also provide details of any large items such as American Fridge Freezers, Aga Cookers, Pianos or Heavy Machinery.

    4.2 The Customer is also obliged to complete all necessary preparation for the moving services in a timely manner in order to enable the proper execution of the move, in particular by:

    4.2.1 packing the moving goods with appropriate packing materials to prevent damage and securely taped to prevent loss and so that items can be stacked during loading.

    4.2.2 for obtaining any local/official permits for no-parking zones during the allocated times of the move (at the locations for moving in and moving out).

    4.2.3 emptying, properly defrosting and cleaning refrigerators and deep freezers (we are not responsible for the contents);

    4.2.4 preparing adequately and disconnecting all appliances or electronics equipment prior to their removal.

    4.2.5 arrangement of access to new address/location to unload goods in a timely manner, as additional costs can occur for excessive waiting time.

  5. Our Liability for Loss or Damage

    5.1 Sky Movers are not liable for loss or damage to the contents whilst in the vehicle during transit by road or overnight or by sea crossings. However customers can request Goods In Transit insurance at extra cost to the removal quote.

    5.2 In the event of loss of or damage to Customer’s goods caused by Sky Movers, our liability to the Customer shall be to repair or replace as necessary to the age and condition of the item.

    5.3 If we choose to repair the item, we will not be liable for any depreciation in value.

  6. Payment

    6.1 When making a booking the Customer will be presented with different payment options depending on the nature of the requested services. Payment can only be made via one of the payment methods agreed in the booking. Full payment must be cleared promptly on completion of job, unless we agree otherwise and you may not withheld any part of the agreed price. Any overdue payments may incur interest charges at 2% calculated on a daily basis.

    6.2 Where additional services are required after the agreement (e.g. where the Customer has provided incorrect or incomplete details or where extra services were supplied Sky Movers can charge the Customer the resulting additional costs.

  7. Cancellation and Postponements

    7.1 If you cancel or change the agreement, we reserve the right to charge you a cancellation fee according to how much notice is given.
